Angela Ackerman

Angela Ackerman is a Design Teacher at McAuliffe Regional Charter Public School and the Danforth Museum, both in Framingham, Massachusetts. She's a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and has worked as an illustrators and designer fort such clients as Hallmark Cards, The Washington Post and Random House.

Journalistic Drawing in Italy

In this course, students develop images both in sketchbooks, and as individual works based directly on their experiences living and traveling in Italy. Students closely observe, document, and comment on their investigations of various aspects of Italian life and culture. On-site drawing is a major focus of the course, as is the use of drawing as a communication tool. Students examine and consider the work of journalistic illustrators as well as artists relevant to the classes’ focus.
